Short version: Unmark is a Markdown to rich text converter that runs entirely on your device. By downloading or using Unmark, you agree to these Terms of Use.

Overview

These Terms of Use govern your use of Unmark, an app for Mac, iPhone and iPad provided by Curato Labs that converts Markdown into rich text on your clipboard. All conversion happens on device. Unmark has no account and no backend.

License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Unmark for your personal use on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the App Store's usage rules and these Terms of Use.

Free and Unmark Pro

Unmark is free to use, with unlimited conversion of headings, bold, italic, strikethrough, links, bullet and numbered lists, nested lists, block quotes, inline code, code blocks and horizontal rules, plus copy as rich text, copy as plain text and the iOS share extension.

Unmark Pro is a one-time, non-consumable purchase of $4.99 (price may vary by region and is shown by the App Store before you buy). It unlocks tables as real table cells, Auto-convert and a global hotkey on Mac, reverse conversion back to Markdown, three styles, export to .docx, .rtf, .html and .md, and the Shortcuts action. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac.

All payment, billing, currency conversion and refund handling is managed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment details. Refund requests go through Apple, not Curato Labs. If Apple reports a purchase as refunded or revoked, the Pro features may be removed.

Acceptable use

  • You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute Unmark except where applicable law permits it.
  • You may not use Unmark in a way that interferes with the app or attempts to bypass its purchase or entitlement checks.
  • You are responsible for the content you convert and for where you paste it. Unmark changes formatting; it does not check, edit or verify what an AI assistant wrote for you.

No warranty

Unmark is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Curato Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of Unmark, including any loss of clipboard content. When Auto-convert is on, Unmark replaces plain text on your clipboard with a rich text version of the same content; you can turn Auto-convert off at any time in Settings.

Changes and termination

We may update Unmark and these Terms of Use from time to time. Continued use of the app after an updated version of these terms is published means you accept the revised terms. We may suspend or discontinue the app at any time, and you may stop using it at any time by deleting it from your devices.
