Write to [email protected]. If something came out wrong, paste the Markdown into the mail and say where you were pasting it. That is usually enough to reproduce it.
Where Unmark lives
On the Mac, Unmark is a menu bar app. Click the asterisk in the menu bar to open it. There is no Dock icon and no window to lose. On iPhone and iPad it is a normal app, and it also appears in the share sheet when you select text in another app.
The basic move
Copy an answer in ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Open Unmark and click Copy as rich text. Paste into Gmail, Word, Google Docs, Slack, Notion, Pages or Mail. With Pro you can press the hotkey instead of opening the popover, or turn on Auto-convert and skip the step entirely.
My table pasted as plain rows
Tables are part of Unmark Pro. Without Pro, a table is converted into plain rows with the cells separated by two spaces, and the preview says so under the table. Everything else, including code blocks, is free and unlimited.
The hotkey does not fire
Another app may already own that combination. Settings offers three presets, so switch to one of the other two. Unmark never synthesises a paste, so it needs no Accessibility permission.
Auto-convert did not convert something
Auto-convert leaves the clipboard alone when it already holds rich text or HTML, when the text does not look like Markdown, and when Unmark wrote it. This is deliberate: it should never damage something you copied from a document.
Restoring a purchase
Unmark Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple Account and shared across iPhone, iPad and Mac. On a new device, open Settings in the app and tap Restore Purchases.
Refunds
Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Feature requests
Send them. PDF export and an iOS keyboard are already on the list, so if you want one of those, say so and it moves up.
