Gmail keeps pasted HTML, which is why a rich paste survives the compose window. What it never does is interpret Markdown, so a heading arrives as two hash marks and a bold line arrives wrapped in stars.

Nothing leaves your Mac
Unmark has no account and no server. Your clipboard content is never stored and never transmitted, on any platform.
On the Mac, the app reads the clipboard only when you open the popover, when you press the hotkey, or when Auto-convert is on. It is otherwise not looking.
Anonymous TelemetryDeck signals carry event names only, never any of your content. Purchases are handled by Apple through StoreKit. The list of our other apps is fetched from a static file.
